Music is one of the central part of
society today and also served as an important function in history as well
whether it is through ceremonial, classical, or pop music. However, many
different societies exist in present time - each with their own history. In
fact, it wasn't until the mid 1800's that different societies began to interact
with each other globally. Despite this, the development of the traditional
music in China is very similar to the pieces composed by the romantic era
composers. The aim of this investigation is to analyze the similarities and
differences between the English romantic music and traditional Chinese music,
with the links of timbre ornamentation, word painting and stylistic techniques.
